Mataora Hotoke-Takirihi is a Health and Medicine Facilitator, who blends ancient traditions with modern knowledge. Mataora has dedicated his life to the art of healing and has qualifications in Traditional Maori, Chinese and Western Medicines. He provides a unique service, drawing from 20 years of experience with international modes of health delivery.
Mataora has designed a consultation process, to weave together individually tailored techniques and treatments. His mode of delivery encompasses Acupuncture, Massage and Herbology intertwined with traditional philosophies, ancient wisdom and a modern understanding of science. Mataora began his journey into Medicine in 1998 at The NZ School of Acupuncture and TCM (NZSATCM), where he studied Chinese Herbology, Acupuncture, Tuina, Taiji and Qigong and Western Medical Science for four years. Mataora then spent 8 years in Asia refining his medicinal knowledge and martial arts skills including Taiji and Qigong also acquiring 1st and 2nd Degree Usui Reiki Qualifications throughout his journey. Upon return to New Zealand Mataora went into full time commitment, providing clinical services throughout New Zealand and Internationally. He incorporated further study of Rongoa Maori Medicine at Te Wananga o Raukawa in 2003, where he came to appreciate the importance of spirituality in medicine. Mataora is also a Tai Chi, Qigong and Yoga instructor, the Founder of Maunganui Mass Meditation and Co-Founder of NZ Mass Meditation.
