“I am training to be a Massage Therapist so I can help people with their wellbeing and fitness goals by offering therapeutic and relaxation massage”.
Catherine is currently studying towards a Diploma in Massage Therapy at Toi Ohoimai Institute of Technology here in Tauranga and enjoys the opportunity to put her growing skills into practice and have the chance to share the benefits of massage with others.
Catherine’s previous career was in the Social Services sector. Having taken time out from this to raise her two boys she has decided to retrain as a Massage Therapist. In her spare time Catherine enjoys running and biking, and can often be found training for different events with a group of her best friends. Massage has assisted Catherine in the past to recover from injury and also to prevent injury whilst training for running events. Experiencing how massage was able to help reach her fitness goals, instead of giving up, led her to want be be able to share this with others.
Catherine is working here at Health Quarters on Mondays offering 30 minute sessions. As a student she is offering her time for free but asking that clients make a $10 donation to the charity I AM HOPE, which offers counselling to young people experiencing mental health issues. The donation can be made in cash at the time of your session.
So if your muscles need a bit of nurturing because you are training hard or you just need some ‘me’ time make an appointment today.
